The lessons are enjoyable and highly educational. I've gained a lot from them. It's not the conventional approach to learning, but the teacher tailors the lessons to your interests, making them easy to grasp. As a student, I've struggled to memorize vocabulary. I attempted flashcards and various online apps, but they weren't very effective. Perhaps they weren't challenging enough. However, the teacher provided methods and tips that greatly aided my memorization. Additionally, the drills were particularly helpful. Despite being tired from work, I always eagerly anticipate his lessons. If you're curious, I highly recommend giving it a try! 😏

Really enjoyable lesson as always. It’s always fun when we use things like music音楽 and the news for study guides. Incorporating those things into the lesson with listening, reading and writing practice keeps it interesting and refreshing. And when used in tandem with memorization and studying from the book i still feel like I’m getting the most out of my class time. Today we talked about the culture of japan. I really enjoy learning about the differences and similarities from American culture, and I think it helps to understand how the language works when you have an inside perspective on the culture and its history. I have been learning Japanese with Shinya Sensei for exactly two years now and I just want to share a little bit about my experience. Every lesson has been really enjoyable. Shinya Sensei communicates clearly and his manner is friendly and relaxed. I also appreciate that Shinya Sensei uses different kinds of resources and that he will adapt the lesson according to my needs. Sensei also uses a shared Google Doc where he makes notes that I can review. I can also make sentences here and receive feedback. I can honestly say that I don’t find speaking Japanese easy and I am prone to getting nervous and having my mind go blank! However, Shinya Sensei is always patient and he encourages me to keep trying. He is also great at explaining things and he corrects my mistakes in a positive way. If you are looking for a Sensei who is professional, engaging, patient and fun - definitely book with Shinya Sensei. 先生、ありがとうございました。

I have had 8 lessons so far and would definitely recommend Shinya Sensei to anyone looking to learn Japanese. I feel that my progress with the language has greatly improved and I am now learning at a much better pace. He does a great job at integrating topics that I'm passionate about such as 音楽 (music) and スノーボード (snowboarding) in to the lesson material. Not only does this keep the lessons fun and engaging, but they are also relevant to the kind of situations and conversations that I may find myself in. He also has a relaxed and friendly teaching style so I'm never nervous to make a mistake or try new vocab. If you are considering a Japanese teacher, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Shinya Sensei try. You will not regret it!

Another great lesson with Shinya sensei. Even though speaking still どきどきしています, I think I'm making progress. このレッソンはばっちりです。

Speaking and listening is very difficult but Shinya sensei is very patient. We recapped things from last lesson and built further on top with more questions and situations about directions.
