Hi, I'm Michelle! I'm from Sydney, Australia. My native language is English, which I speak with a standard Australian accent, and I also speak fluent German. I spent over 20 years teaching mathematics and then completed university studies in linguistics. I absolutely love teaching and I have a very clear understanding of the typical challenges my language students face, as I am also a language learner myself (currently learning French, Italian, Japanese and Portuguese).

It is important to find a teacher whose lessons will fit your unique needs.
I work best with the following types of students:
English lessons:
- Someone who has already learned some English and understands English grammatical concepts in general, but wants to improve their speaking and comprehension skills to feel more confident when having conversations with English speakers
- Plans to live in or visit Australia OR is a native German speaker
German lessons:
- Someone who is an English speaker (native or non-native)
- Is at the beginner or intermediate stages of their German learning, and wants to better understand German grammar

English lessons:
I specialise in helping adults develop the skills they need to speak and understand authentic conversational English, with a particular focus on the type of English spoken in Australia. During the lessons, we can discuss a range of different topics and I will correct mistakes, answer your questions, and provide additional explanations. I can also help you to improve your pronunciation, reading and writing skills.
German lessons:
I teach German grammar in English for English speakers (I find that beginner and intermediate learners learn more effectively when grammar is explained in a language they already know). I can also assist with German pronunciation and reading skills.Il mio materiale didattico

Check my lesson hours with Michelle, and trust me, you won't find a more patient and dedicated teacher. You can book her classes, but don't book too many or there won’t be any time slots for me! (Just kidding, but seriously, she's that good!)

I love having lessons with Michelle!! She is easy to talk to and explains concepts in such an understandable way that I always leave the lessons confident.
