🌻 Kenya Sensei

Kenya is truly an amazing teacher. He is extremely friendly and kind, always encouraging, and seamless in how he gives feedback. The feedback (correcting sentence structure, grammar, or word choice, for instance) is either worked naturally into the conversation or he will update a shared Google doc during the conversation so that you can review afterward. Always patient and ready to swap stories (he lives a very exciting life!), he also always comes prepared and is purposeful about what you're learning and why) so that you're always improving and following a course of action that is relevant to you. We've known each other for years now because of Italki and I always look forward to our lessons. You will, too!

I’ve been having classes with Kenya せんせい for over 6 months now and I’m really happy I found him. Classes are extremely well prepared - you can tell that he put a lot of effort into preparing the sides and handouts. He’s also able to speak many languages, which creates some fun moments when comparing their differences. If what you want is to really learn japanese, then he’s your teacher!

Another great lesson with Kenya Sensei! I feel like I've learnt so much more with his lessons than with any other course I've tried, and can finally understand how to structure a sentence! He's really easy going but comes so prepared and explains things in such a clear way that it's easy to make quick progress. Definitely recommend him as a great teacher!

I felt unmotivated to learn Japanese because I didn't really have a real reason to other than to understand visual novels or to travel to Japan. But Kenya Sensei made it fun to learn Japanese with many interesting powerpoint slides and lots of pictures. Therefore, I feel more motivated to learn Japanese. I was confused about various different Japanese grammar points and how to translate them into English. But Kenya Sensei made a Google Docs with customized Japanese to English translations. Therefore, I now know the different complex grammar structures in Japanese. I don't have many Japanese conversation partners in my life. But Kenya Sensei asked lots of interesting questions in Japanese which helped improve my conversation skills. Therefore, I feel like I improved a lot in my Japanese conversation skills. Kenya Sensei has Zoom pro which is a nice bonus, the quality of the lessons is very professional. His internet is good, no choppy audio or video. 11/10 I would recommend Kenya.

I was tired and in low spirits when the session started, but Kenya's patient attitude brought the lesson around and we had a great conversation about all sorts of things. He really is great at this.

After two years of no classes it was so good to get back into my learning with Kenya sensei. If you're thinking of learning a language I recommend Kenya.
